Parents are the primary stakeholders in their children’s upbringing. Parents know what is best for their children. It is time to bring our strong Utah values back into our schools. I will fight to give parents back their voice in Davis School District.

I am a wife and mother of four. I have two children that attend schools in the Davis School District—one in elementary and one in secondary. I also have two children that have graduated from Davis County schools. I have lived in Davis County for more than 30 years. I graduated from Davis High School.

I earned a bachelor’s degree and a secondary teaching certificate from Weber State University and taught in the school district for several years. As a former educator in Davis County, I have experienced the challenges our teachers face each day and understand personally why our state and district struggle to keep good teachers in the classroom. I understand that teachers excel when they have local control over their classrooms. I want our teachers to use their gifts and talents to teach the way they feel is best for their students. I love our teachers and will fight for them. I value our teachers over technology.

I am very concerned with the direction our school district is going. Currently, only one member of our school board has children that attend Davis County schools. Our school board is out of touch with what is going on in our schools, and the issues that affect our families. I see first hand the challenges our children face every day at school.
